We opened the Studio
officially in January of 2003 and since that time it has become a haven for
real people looking to make real improvements in their health and level of
fitness. We are not a large facility, and that will never be our intention.
We are a semi-private environment much like being in one’s
living room. This environment allows our clients a high sense of personal
attention, which is the hallmark of The Health & Fitness Studio.
About
the Staff…
Cheryl Washwell M.S.…Founder and Co owner. Cheryl holds a
Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. Part of her work towards her degree
involved interning at Joslin Diabetes Clinic. It
was there that she discovered her passion for working with people with
special conditions. Since completing her degree programs, she has held
positions ranging from Personal Trainer to Director of Fitness for a large
upscale fitness center. Escaping from the rigid mindset of the Big Gym, she
opened the Studio so she could provide her services in ways that are best
for her clients.
Bill Washwell LMT…Co owner and LMT (Licensed
Massage Therapist)… Besides assisting with the
personal training aspect of the Studio, Bill is also the resident massage
therapist. His primary focus is with seated massage which allows the client
to remain fully dressed but at the same time provides a level of deep
tissue massage that equals what can be accomplished on a table. Bill is
also responsible for the marketing and development of the Studio.
Grace Maguire…Administrative Manager. Responsible for all
things Administrative, Grace keeps the Studio running smoothly. Whether it’s answering the phones, scheduling, or throwing
herself into the jaws of the bill collectors, she is the one that allows
the rest of us to concentrate on what’s most important…YOU!
Stephanie Baker…Health and Fitness Studio Intern. Stephanie has many
years in the fitness and nutrition field. She has taught aerobics,
conducted nutrition seminars, and has been certified as a personal trainer.
Stephanie is currently a senior at Bridgewater State College, working on
her Exercise Science Degree.
