The Nutrition Training… In today’s world of nutrient restrictive dieting such as Low Carb and No Fat, we believe in providing a full nutrient balanced regimen. Studies have shown that only programs using balanced nutrition and exercise have long lasting positive effects.
Our method of nutrition training consists of teaching you how to take foods that you like (No expensive pre-packaged stuff!) and put them in the right combinations and amounts to provide your body with what it needs, at the right intervals. You will enjoy your meals without feeling deprived or guilty!
The Physical Training…We put the Personal in Personal Training! You are a unique person with your own unique goals and needs. No one else has the same physical and medical conditions. No one else has quite the same motivations (or lack) as you do.
The latest crop of “Express” or “Fast” circuit based facilities try to push you through the same 30 minute routine as everyone else that walks in. We couldn’t be more different. Here your workout program is custom designed by an Exercise Physiologist. We take your current level of fitness, any special considerations, and your goals and put them all together to come up with a routine that will get you to where you want to be. Your trainer will get to know you and share your desire to see you succeed.
And we do all this in a warm, friendly, comfortable studio. Not a huge crowded gym. Not in a “Club”. But in a semi-private studio. Our facility is designed to be large enough to accommodate a number of people training and performing cardio work but at the same time small enough to make friends easily. No blaring music, no TV’s assaulting you with stock quotes or the latest gossips. Does that mean we’re boring or dreadfully serious? Heck No! According to many of our clients, one of the strongest attractions of our studio is the fun they have with us and the other clients.
Here are some of the ever-growing list of why people come to the Studio:
Diabetes- If you have type I or type II diabetes then you are familiar with trying to keep your blood sugar at it’s proper levels. We have our clients with blood sugar concerns take a BS reading prior to and after each training session. The good news is that studies have shown that regular exercise can work towards lowering insulin resistance in people with type II diabetes.
Wedding preparation- Whether you’re the Bride to be, Mother of the bride, or part of the wedding party, people will be watching as you come down the aisle. For some it means just slimming down or toning up a bit, for others it may mean a little ‘sculpting’ to make the dress look it’s best. And guys this means you too, you might need to work on that cumberbund area.
Mobility & Balance- Maintaining or increasing Range Of Motion (ROM) is not limited to seniors. Sometimes range limitations may be due to injury or soft tissue trauma. We also have clients that are in their Post Rehab phase from surgery. Joint replacement, Orthopedic, and cardiac recovery almost always requires more time and work than what is covered by physical or occupational therapists.
Athletic- Weight training is definitely a performance booster! What does long distance running, wrestling, football, soccer, and golf all have in common? Fine tuned weight training and cardio will give you an edge in any of them. All muscles are important, but we can tweak certain muscle groups based on your athletic needs.
Weight loss - What is the safest and most permanent way of losing unwanted pounds? Weight training, cardio work, and modifying your nutrition intake. Believe it or not there is a lot of science to exercise and diet. Though it is true that any exercise is better than none, there is an optimum amount. Developing a routine that gets the most out of your time is what we are about.
Body Sculpting- Sometimes looking your best takes more than losing inches on your waist or thighs. Sometimes it means adding measurements to your shoulders or developing that classic “Swimmer’s V”. We look at you critically to determine what needs work and where.
